Lord Jesus Christ, Eternal Son,
Creator of the stars,
The Prince of life who tasted death
And healed creation's scars.
Our brother now, in heaven crowned,
He sits upon the throne
And unashamed, before his God,
Declares us as his own.
He shared our flesh, he shared our pain,
He shared our life on earth
But he destroyed the evil one
Who holds the power of death.
That fear shall never rule us now
We serve another King
He's faced our trials, he'll help us stand
He's conquered everything.
He bids us to his Father's throne
For grace to meet each test
Warns us against sin's hollow charms
Beckons us to his Rest.
So let us fix our thoughts on him
And run our race Today
Through shame and pain to heavenly joy
He's pioneered our way.
